Fire safety training is a legal requirement of the Fire and Emergency NZ Regulations and must be part of an Emergency Response Plan under the Health & Safety at Work Act. It is vital that your staff are trained in fire safety, this includes the use of fire extinguishers and the role of fire wardens.
Using the latest state-of-the-art virtual reality technology, our fire extinguisher training is a step above the rest. The training takes two hours and is delivered by our trainers, in person, from your own workplace. This course is designed for anyone, from those that have never been trained to use a fire extinguisher, to those that just need a refresher.

Is fire extinguisher training mandatory?
The owners of buildings that require an Evacuation Scheme must have, and practice, an evacuation training programme so building occupants can escape to safety during a fire emergency. The training programme must include details of how the occupants are trained to use any firefighting equipment in the building. Therefore, it is important that occupants of the building are trained to use a fire extinguisher.
In addition to the above, and under the Health & Safety at Work Act a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) has a primary duty of care to ensure the health and safety of workers while they are at work in the business. Find out more on the Worksafe website.
