Fire Security Services Celebrates the Graduation of its 2026 Cadetship Cohort

Fire Security Services is proud to celebrate the graduation of its 2026 Cadetship cohort, with a new group of Compliance Technicians successfully completing our 14-week Cadetship Programme and beginning careers dedicated to helping keep New Zealand buildings compliant and the people who use them safe.

Over the past three months, our cadets have combined classroom learning, practical assessments, and hands-on training at our Hamilton Training Facility with real-world experience in their home branches across New Zealand. Through this combination of theory and practical application, they have developed the technical knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to support customers with fire protection compliance.

As Compliance Technicians, they will play an important role in inspecting and maintaining fire protection and specified systems, helping building owners and managers meet their Building Warrant of Fitness obligations and protect the people who use their buildings every day.

At Fire Security Services, we believe investing in people is one of the best ways to strengthen New Zealand's fire protection industry. Our Cadetship Programme reflects our ongoing commitment to developing highly skilled technicians, creating meaningful career opportunities, and delivering the knowledgeable, professional service our customers rely on nationwide.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated trainers, Sheldon Taua-Draper and Ollie Lovell, whose expertise, patience, and passion have been instrumental in guiding this year's cohort. Their commitment to mentoring future technicians is helping raise the standard of fire protection and compliance across New Zealand.

We would also like to recognise Kahleigh Pita, whose planning, organisation, and coordination behind the scenes ensured the programme ran seamlessly from start to finish. Delivering a programme of this scale requires a genuine team effort, and Kahleigh's contribution played a key role in its success.

To our 2026 cadets, congratulations on reaching this important milestone. This is just the beginning of your careers, and we look forward to watching you grow as you help protect people, property, and businesses throughout New Zealand.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this year's Cadetship Programme such a success. At Fire Security Services, investing in the next generation of fire protection professionals is an investment in safer buildings, stronger compliance, and better outcomes for our customers and communities across New Zealand.
